Plains All American (PAA) is an industry-leading transportation and midstream provider specializing in transportation, storage, processing and marketing solutions for crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs). Job Purpose/Summary:


This position helps performs required scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance on pumps, valves, gear boxes, mixers, engines, and other crude oil equipment and tools.  Also may be requested to assist maintain up to date maintenance records in compliance with Plains Field Operations.


Job Responsibilities

  • Position includes the performance of maintenance, upkeep and cleaning of station, pipeline and terminal facilities including, but not limited to painting, weed control and general housekeeping required as directed, to tanks, valves, engines, motors, mixers, piping, control panels, fencing, office, shop and storage buildings associated with pipeline, trucking, barge and ship terminals and facilities.

  • Depending upon assignment, position will be subject to call outs for emergency response and/or work associated with Plains field operations.

  • Keep accurate inventory of tires, Mount & Dis-mount tires, repair tires,

  • Assist Mechanics with Transport servicing and shop area maintenance.

  • May assist other employees in field operational procedures and maintenance under the direction of a qualified company employee.


Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with basic math skills and the ability to speak, read and write English.

  • Pass pre-employment drug test as well as background check of employment and criminal history.


For our summer internship program, we look for sophomores, juniors, or seniors, working toward a bachelor's degree with solid academic credentials along with significant extracurricular involvement. Strong written and verbal communications skills are key to our business as well as having strong attention to detail. Students must demonstrate effective planning and organizational skills, proficiency with Microsoft products (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and a strong desire to learn more about the Oil and Gas business.
