Beware!  Beware! Beware! There are bad actors everywhere!

8 Ways to Protect Yourself:

1. Verify Websites and Sellers  -  Check for https:// in the URL.  Look for customer reviews.  Use reputable shopping platforms.

2. Don’t Click on Suspicious Links from your emails and texts - Go directly to the company’s website.

3. Research Charities - Use tools like Charity Navigator and Guidestar to verify legitimacy.

4. Monitor your Bank Accounts - Check your bank accounts/statements regularly for any suspicious activity.

5. Use Secure Payment Methods - Pay using your credit card(s) or services like PayPal for Fraud Protection…but always be careful of what you pay and who you pay.

6. Be skeptical of Unsolicited Requests  - Confirm need for funds and personal information independently of any request.

7. Track packages Securely - Use official apps or websites to track packages.

8. Install Security Software - Use anti-virus and anti-phishing on your devices to block malicious activity.
