Accountants

We’ve heard it. We’ve said it.
“I know better than to believe a con man.”
“I know who to trust.”
“Can you believe that person fell for that trick?”
“Nobody will take my money.”
“Nobody will take my house.”
Let’s work together to help prevent scams.
How do we do this?
Talk to family and friends - both old and young. Everyone is at risk. Young adults fall for scams most often. Older adults lose the most money.
Be wary of the latest hottest deal. Don’t open emails that tell you – there’s money that is yours…. there’s a package waiting for you…. Don’t call that number on the brochure you receive. Don’t tell people who call you that you need money; that you live alone; yes, you would love to make money…
STOP. CHECK. PROTECT- Stop – Pause before giving money or personal information. Check – Verify the legitimacy of the person or organization contacting you. Protect – If something feels off, act quickly.
