Production Operations Manager

JOB SUMMARY                         

The Production Manager leads the production operations across aggregate sites, overseeing mining, processing, stockpiling, loading, and shipping activities. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant operations by managing site-level supervisors and teams, driving continuous improvement, and collaborating with Sales, Reliability & Maintenance, and other functional leaders to meet production goals, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. The Production Manager plays a key role in capital planning, employee development, and fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence. This position will enable Dolese’s vision of being a unique and growing competitor through innovation and people by harnessing the potential of onsite employees and technology.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in production or manufacturing, including at least 5-7 years in a management role.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Industry experience in aggregate mining preferred.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with both internal and external audiences.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey information, provide direction, and foster collaboration.
  • Analytical ability and resourcefulness, as required in developing and implementing improved processes and resolving operating problems.
  • Ability to travel occasionally and work flexible schedules including early mornings, nights, and weekends.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).Currently possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Lift objects of various dimensions and up to 100 lbs. of weight frequently.
  • Ability to work near, around, or on light or heavy equipment.
  • Ability to repeatedly climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push, and pull objects.
  • Ability to use vibration producing tools frequently.
  • Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Ability to repeatedly reach, squat, and tolerate prolonged standing/walking/sitting.
  • Ability to frequently walk on uneven surfaces.

Concrete Delivery Professional (Class A or B CDL)

JOB SUMMARY                                    

The Concrete Delivery Professional is responsible for driving and delivering concrete to industrial, commercial, and residential construction job sites in a safe and efficient manner adhering to DOT and company rules and regulations.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Operates and drives a ready mix truck in a safe and efficient manner adhering to the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Dolese rules and regulations
  • Demonstrates an understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices at the workplace and continuously follows all safety rules
  • Performs weekly maintenance, record, and inspection on vehicles to include fueling, cleaning, tire/light inspection, and checking and adding fluids as needed
  • Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections in a timely manner
  • Visually inspects the consistency of concrete in the mixer
  • Uses water hoses, brushes, and other cleaning supplies to maintain a clean mixer truck
  • Completes and maintains a DOT Daily Log Book
  • Understands and communicates job hazards and directs workers either directly, through two-way radio, or using hand signals
  • Utilizes tools and technology relevant to the role (eTicket, etc.)
  • Exercises good judgment regarding worksite access, unloading, and operation to and from the delivery site
  • Assists maintenance with repairs as needed
  • Maintains a positive attitude around coworkers and customers and acts in a professional and courteous manner
  • Assists in training of coworkers as needed
  • Regular, reliable attendance at the worksite or assigned work location
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess a Class A or Class B CDL license
  • Must have a clean and safe driving record
  • Ability to maintain an active DOT qualification
  • Ability to perform well in a team environment
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work without direct supervision
  • Willingness to work nights, overtime, and weekends as required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work up to 16 hours, with a maximum driving time per day of 11 hours and able to work according to DOT Hours of Service Regulations
  • Lift objects of various dimensions and up to 100 lbs. of weight frequently
  • Ability to perform sustained overhead reaching
  • Ability to work in areas with the potential for high noise levels
  • Ability to tolerate working at heights up to 12 feet
  • Ability to work near, around, or on light or heavy equipment
  • Ability to repeatedly climb stairs and climb ladders
  • Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects
  • Ability to use vibration tools frequently
  • Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions
  • Ability to repeatedly reach, squat, and tolerate prolonged standing/walking/sitting
  • Ability to repeatedly walk on uneven surfaces
