Position Summary

The Part-Time Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the hotel’s guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and overall property in a safe, clean, and operational condition. This position will perform routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, repairs, and respond to guest and staff maintenance requests.

The ideal candidate is dependable, hands-on, able to work independently, and takes pride in maintaining a clean and well-functioning hotel.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel.
• Complete preventative maintenance on guest rooms, equipment, and hotel facilities.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff.
• Inspect guest rooms for maintenance issues and ensure repairs are completed properly.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, drains, and minor leaks.
• Perform basic electrical repairs, including light fixtures, switches, outlets, and other minor issues.
• Repair or replace basic hardware, doors, locks, furniture, and fixtures.
• Assist with HVAC, hot water, pool, and other building systems as needed.
• Maintain hotel grounds and exterior areas as needed.
• Keep maintenance areas, tools, and equipment organized and clean.
• Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Identify potential safety hazards and report or correct them promptly.
• Assist outside contractors and service technicians when necessary.
• Follow all hotel, safety, OSHA, and brand standards.
• Maintain a professional appearance and provide courteous service to guests.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel maintenance, apartment maintenance, facilities, construction, or related experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine appropriate repairs.
• Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Dependable and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Must be able to respond to maintenance emergencies when scheduled.
• Pool maintenance experience or certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights when necessary.
• Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and tools.

Schedule

Part-time position. Will move to full time after 90 days. Schedule may include weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays based on hotel needs. Flexibility is preferred, particularly for emergency maintenance situations.

Work Environment

This position works throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, mechanical areas, exterior grounds, and other property areas. The Maintenance Technician is expected to maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment at all times.
